Yashraj Khaitan is the Founder and CEO of Polaris, an energy technology company founded out of Berkeley, California. The company develops and commercializes path breaking technology for a smarter electricity grid and energy analytics to help Utilities and Businesses radically reduce their energy losses. Yashraj started working on Polaris (earlier Gram Power) when he was 19 and prior to that worked on cutting edge solar cell research as a high school student. He completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California - Berkeley and then dropped out of his post graduate program to start and scale Polaris. As the CEO, he focuses on partnerships, strategy and building the overall technology vision and portfolio for the company. While the company started off with building low-cost solar products and microgrids for rural electrification, it today is one of the market leaders for smart metering solutions for the national grid in India and is managing over 100,000 kW of power in over 15 cities across the country. Yashraj was honored with the Global Indian Award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and recently was also chosen in the Forbes 30 under 30 List 2019.

Sonal is heading the Human Resources Department in Polaris Smart Metering Private Limited. Sonal is having overall experience of more than 13 years in the field of HR and Operations.

Sonal started her career with Telecom Industry as HR Manager and grew to Head HR and Operations in her 10year tenure in telecom industry. Thereafter, she moved to Polaris Smart Metering Private Limited in 2020 and has been leading HR function since then; which is in business of Manufacturing of Smart Electricity Meters.

Sonal has completed her Master’s in Business Administration from Apex Institute of Management and Science, Technical University of Rajasthan.

Gaurav, Head of Smart Gas Meter business, leads the development of smart gas meters business vertical within Polaris. He brings with him an interesting mix of consulting, industry and entrepreneurship experience. Gaurav has around two decades of experience in the Oil & Gas industry including a two-and-half years overseas experience in Eastern Europe. As a Consultant in PwC, he has advised multiple domestic and international Oil & Gas clients on business strategy, transaction advisory and investment analysis, business planning, financial feasibility assessments and industry advocacy spanning across the entire oil and gas value chain. As Vice President, Strategy & Finance in THINK Gas he led both organic and inorganic growth agenda, working closely with the PE fund. During his tenure in THINK Gas he led multiple acquisition opportunities including successfully closing a US$ 300 million transaction. Gaurav has authored and led the preparation of several thought leadership publications. He has contributed to multiple articles that were published in domestic and international newspapers and journals. He has been a speaker at various conferences and industry events including as a moderator in a plenary session in Petrotech 2016.

Saahas has close to 19 years of of both industry and consulting experience across Sales & Growth, Project Strategy, Procurement & Implementation of large capital projects. He has vast experience in institutionalizing Business Excellence Models to deliver complex programs and projects leveraging his experience of working with reputed organizations in India & abroad. He has been associated with the smart metering program in India for the last 3+ years across different roles covering business growth, operational excellence, quality initiatives and strategic partnerships.  Saahas is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and has done his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical from Punjab Engineering College, Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from NMIMS Global and has attended Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics from Great Lakes Institute.
